Church of England Primary School

Staplegrove C of E Primary School is a happy school situated in the newer part of Staplegrove, just off Bindon Road. We have about 192 children on the roll with seven classes and an excellent team of teachers, teaching assistants, admin staff and governors. Our parents become actively involved with school life and in particular with fund raising and have enabled us to provide extras for our children including the installation of the ICT suite.

We enjoy close links with Staplegrove Church and have regular services at the church at key times in the year, including our service for those children leaving us to go onto secondary education in the summer term.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection stated that;

“teamwork is a strong feature and relationships between staff and pupils is excellent. Pupils are extremely well behaved and respond very well to the good quality of teaching.”

A great deal of care is put into the building of good relationships and the ethos of the school is one of the first qualities recognised by the visitors that come here. We aim to:

  • create a welcoming and exciting environment, in which we can develop, mature and achieve our full potential
  • share and care for each other whilst encouraging everyone to become responsible, confident and independent and show sensitivity towards the differences between one another.
  • develop a love of learning, a pride in work well done and a continued desire to expand our knowledge and skills throughout life.
  • enjoy the wonders of God’s world and to work together in the way that God shows us, within the school community and throughout our lives.

We welcome visitors and aim to give them a snap shot of life here at school during their visit. We have enjoyed the visits made to the school by children from pre-school groups as well as the Evergreen Club linked to the church. If people would like to come and see what we are doing, then feel free to call in when you will be made most welcome.
