Proposed traffic calming measures for Manor Road, Staplegrove

There will be an opportunity, at the coffee morning on Tuesday 4 December 2012, to look at draft proposals drawn up by Somerset County Council to introduce traffic calming measures in Manor Road, Staplegrove. The draft proposals include four road humps and a second pinch-point. Please come along to the coffee morning, have a look at the plans and let the Parish Council have your comments. The coffee morning is held in Staplegrove Village hall from 10.30 am to 12 noon.

Coffee morning and beat surgery – Change of date

The coffee morning and Beat Surgery normally takes place on the first Tuesday of every month. As the first Tuesday in January 2013 falls on New Year’s Day the coffee morning will take place on Tuesday 8 January 2013 10.30am to 12 noon. Tea and biscuits 50p. An opportunity to meet fellow parishioners and raise any concerns with the police.

Parish Council Purchases New Play Equipment for Staplegrove Rec’

A generous gift has helped fund a new set of wooden play equipment for Staplegrove Rec’, on Manor Road. The donation was made from the estate of the late Gina and Leslie Hunt who had lived in Staplegrove for over 50 years. The  Agility Trail and three picnic benches have been dedicated to their memory. In addition to this gift, Staplegrove Parish Council was able to purchase the apparatus with grants from the village hall and Taunton Deane Borough Council. The equipment replaced a ‘commando bridge’ climbing frame removed in 2011 after failing a safety inspection. It had been installed...
